Max tire size
The proper size tire for the '01 Prelude using a +2 wheel size change would be a P215/40R18. The tires you had are actually too small (diameter) and throws off your speedometer and may affect ABS operation. The tires you can get a "good deal" on are actually way too tall... and this will increase the chance that you will have rub problems... especially during cornering.
Don't get the wrong size just because it is a "good deal"... get what is right for the car.
Original tire = P205/55R16 = 24.87" tall
Current tire = P215/35R18 = 23.93" tall (essentially 1" shorter than OE) - WRONG
New tire = P215/45R18 = 25.62" (essentially 3/4" taller than OE) - WRONG
Proper "+2" tire = P215/40R18 = 24.77" tall (only 1/10" shorter than OE) - CORRECT
Slightly shorter is usually preferable when the section width is wider to minimize, or even eliminate tire rub.
