Honda Civic 2006 ignition cylinder

I swapped out the ignition cylinder on my 2006 civic but the new one won't turn did I skip some step or is the new part defective. I'm quite agitated

Did you get the key for that lock cylinder? Did you get both door cylinders from the same donor vehicle? And the ECM ( engine computer )?
