Whats up Ladies and felIas? so im now looking for a crx and have no idea where to start. Ive been doing a lot of reading and google searches and figured i could come here to ask/look for answers. My big question right now is, what should i be aware of when buying a crx? What are some big things i should look for?

 

That's a really an open ended question. Just keep in mind they are old (newest being practically a quarter century old already). Aside from rust, the main thing I'd be worried about is body damage, specifically replaced front core supports. Other than that, everything else should be reasonably fixable/replaceable unless you live in an area that doesn't have them frequently at the local junkyards.

 

What is your goal with the car? That always plays into what to look for. If you are going to drag race the car, don't worry about the interior. If you are swapping it, don't fret engine wear or mileage. If you are looking to daily the car AS IS, worry about a lot of things.

More information is needed and this topic has been covered several times, but goals is a big part of 'what to look for' in a car.

 

I think we all replied to a post like this about 6 months ago. We were excited and gave a ton of feedback then; I know now I don't care to re-write it, and couldn't find it.

 

I really do like to steer new hobbyist in the right direction. Since the OP hasn't posted since this thread, I'm guessing he lost interest.

I cannot confirm nor deny the post made by whited. I searched "buying" in the EF subforum and after 10 pages of searches, it stopped. That was 11/2014, just under a year ago. I couldn't find anything particularly great, but using Google and searching "What to look for EF site:www.honda-tech.com" OR "What to look for site:https://honda-tech.com/honda-crx-ef-civic-1988-1991-3/" should work. I found a couple threads that way.

A lot of the threads are older (00-05) but the information is widely the same. Rust, leaks, hack jobs, etc.
