2000 accord cloth upholstery mystery
The back seat of our 2000 accord is making me crazy. A small area close the passenger door had a water bottle leak out may 4 oz of whter and it caused a brown stain when it dried. The spot was about 7 inches wide. I got some Tough Stuff foam and tried to clean it and it made it worse. I then starting using only water and a rag and when soaked the seat looked great. Then it dried and it
looks like this.

I have to wonder if the material or if its the foam undernath that causes the browning.
I had to keep ferilling the water bucket as I was soaking and cleaning the seat cause it turned the water into a dark tea looking brew with 1 or 2 applications.
Anyone else have this happen?

I'd say it's the foam or something that soaked into the foam. I'd just get another seat bottom. Best chance for a decent one is local craigslist or the salvage yard: Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market
Check the bottom of the seat for signs of water intrusion. Also check the seat structure for rust. If you find rust on the underside of the seat, you will need to find out why it rusted or else it will occur again. I've seen this happen on several cars that left the windows down during rainy weather. The water rusts the seat frame, and "evaporates" the rust to the surface. The wicking on the center seat belt tells me there was a puddle of something (water) in the seat well for some time.
