So my buddy has a code reader, I used it and erased the code also fixing the problem...I know sometimes you need to reset the ECM so the code can go away...is erasing the code using the code reader resetting or erasing it from the ECM? or should I still reset the ECM by taking the negative side of battery off? (Don't have radio, XM radio code)

 

I am not a Honda or Acura tech but on GM,Ford, & Dodge cars & trucks using the scan tool to clear the codes clears them from the ECM I would think it is the same for Acura's & Honda's cars as well.
