Default 94 accord shuts off

Today while waiting in traffic my 94 accord lx started idling bad for a second or two and then shut off. It started right back up idled good and then did the same thing. Again it started right back up and ran fine for a couple of miles. Then twice while driving it did not shut off but jerked for a second and then ran normal the rest of the time. When I got home I opened the hood and left the car running. Did not see anything out of the ordanary and it did it again. It was like a hickup and then it ran fine. I havn't a clue what it could be. Any input would be appreciated.

Anyone? Could this possibly be a clogged fuel filter? I recently ran my fuel tank lower than normal, but not out of gas. I just put gas in the car this morning before this started.

it can be a variety of stuff, in my 94 lx, were dirty or fouled spark plugs and dirty fuel filter and injectors,
does that hiccup you say was a misfire?

Try checking for stored codes first.

Checked for codes today. The only code it had was the D4 light did 1 long flash followed by 5 short flashes, whatever that means.

I think this code has been stored for years. At least 5 years ago I stopped at a stop sign and my car like started missing and jerking when I left the stop sign and the D4 light started flashing. I thought it was going to shut off. It did it again the next time I stopped. After that I shut the car off. The next time I started the car it ran fine and the D4 light never flashed again. That had to be 80k miles ago at least. I don't think that has anything to do with the problem I am having now. I think the problem now is fuel related because giving it gas seems to clear it up.

Just an update, I have been using the honda just to run close errands. It has not shown any signs of problems since that one day so either the problem was just a one day thing or the problem only happens after the car has been running for 20 minutes or longer.
