Skunk2 Pro series intake manifold on d16a6
Hey guys I have a few questions. I have an 89 Crx Si with its original d16a6 motor. I just purchased a pro series intake manifold. And am going to purchase an alpha series throttlebody. Does the IAT hole still need to be drilled out to work with my stock obdo sensor? I've also read my stock map sensor and fuel rail will not work. I'm planning on getting an Aem fuel rail so I'm not worried about that. But do you know what map sensor I should use? Thank you very much in advance.
Can't wait to add this manifold and throttlebody to my build! Just need to figure out the details.
I messaged Skunk2 and their response was :
Zack - You should be looking towards the OBD1, D16Z6 for the components as those would have the proper fuel rail, sensors, etc. You can technically use the OEM map sensor you have but you need to run a line to a port that you make on the manifold for the vacuum reference. OR you switch to the OBD1 pieces and convert the wiring over to the new style sensor.
I'm using this for a reference guide

I asked the guys as Skunk2 if they had a better guide to follow to hook everything up and they said they do not... And sent me here to ask. Help Me out guys!!!
Thanks in advance!

i went to the junkyard and bought the y8 iat and the seal that goes with it and drilled my intake, then made an extension harness to plug into the stock sensor plug on the other end of the manifold. you can use your stock map just like they said you can or get a later model one and relocate the map plug slightly.
Can you post a pic of where you drilled for the Iat. And maybe where you drilled for the map sensor? Can you also give me info on the extension harness you built?

The y8 sensor I just eyeballed where it sat stock, and tried to copy that. Not much to it. The extension is 2 wires, again not much to it, I made sure I had the y8 iat plug and added the extra length wiring.
The map either mounts on the throttle body or firewall. If you use the firewall stock one you just plug it into manifold with the vacuum line just like stock. If you use a throttle body mounted map you just move the plug from the firewall map to the new one.
