Did the EG6 come with:
1)paint matched front bumper air vents/mirrors/moldings/door handles
2)sunroof
3)rear wiper

 

1. Air vents were black in most cases
Mirrors were paint matched
Door handles were paint matched
Mouldings were dark grey in most cases

2. No - it was an option

3. Even the base model japanese EG (Civic MX, 1.3L carby) came with a rear wiper and two wing mirrors.

And...
Contrary to popular belief, not all eg6 are SiRII...
Difference between SiR and SiRII eg6's?
SiRII have:
-nicer interior trim
-leather steering wheel
-bronze smoked glass
-thats about it... although srs,abs, and tcs are optional, although I've seen them even on regular SiR before so I guess thats not exactly exclusive.

And there also happens to be a special version eg6 around...
Its called an SiR-S...
Only 3000 were made and sold in the Japanese market...
It could be described as the Type R of egs...
It came with champagne coloured 15" alloys
Momo leather steering wheel
Leather gearknob
Black interior
Driver's side keyless entry
Front Armrest
Air Conditioning
6 speaker audio system + cd player

All im sweating are those front "tweeter" enclosures like the 96 and up....

 

from what i hear the sunroof on the eg6sirII in japan was very rare and so is the interior in black...and only available in sir-s models

 

The Sir(-S)(II) interior is the same as VTi in Europe.

 

Q: for the JDM EG6's........

- is the JDM EG6 SiR basicly a usdm VX w/B16A?
- is the JDM EG6 SiR II basicly a usdm EH2 Si w/B16A?

Umm... no...
Although I'm not 100% sure on what a VX or an Si are...

eg6's come with 4 wheel disc brakes, white faces guages with amber lighting, including the aircon etc, as well as the b16a with y21 gearbox, and some lovely 15" hubcaps...

The interior is somewhat different to what you guys get as well i believe...
Do you guys get the parcel tray in the rear, or the lift-out box type?
Japanese got the lift-out box type, if any of you know what that looks like.

i doubt a usdm eh2 si comes with glazed windows standard like the SirII does...

Personally I've only seen 2 SiR-S in person. Not a very common sight, even in my country. We get all kinds of weird cars here... somehow they find their way over...

ill post some pics up tomrow so you can all see, its not a real eg6, but conversion with many of the things you mentioned. for the record. last time i was in japan, every sir i drove saw and drove in had a sunroof.

VTI and ESI in Europe has Sunroof as Standard, and I think the SIR got it too.

 

ahh all the extra stuff i'm hearin makes me wanna go to japan an get a couple

 

 

The export EG6 was sold as VTi, with the single cam VTEC sold as ESi. I think this is true in most export markets except maybe Hong Kong. In these markets, EG6 VTi received sunroof as standard. Also, I'm pretty sure export EG6s didn't subtle JDM goodies like flush moulded side markers and the rear boot tray thing.

In Japan, EG6 SiR did not get sunroof, even as an option. EG6 SiRII had it as an option (still have to pay extra). Other options were TCS, ABS and viscous LSD (not sure how the TCS works). These weren't available for the base EG6 SiR.

Also, regarding the black interior, it was introduced in the 94-95 "facelifted" model (not much changed other that interior colour and seats -- they were changed to have more side lumbar support and the headrest was like most JDM DOHC VTECs i.e. square with a hole in the middle).

My friend's eg9 has tcs... Really annoying. Turns on by default each time you start the car.

Always strikes me as weird how they call an exported eg6 a 'Vti'...
