Hi! my cluster make a noise at certain speed, i think it has to do with cable speedo, any input for fix it? put some grease in the plug with cluster, noise is lower but still there.. it's EF sedan 1988

My cluster had a squeaking/squealing from what sounded like the speedometer so here's what I did.

I took the dash cover off and pulled the cluster out, put a drill on the speedometer and ran it up to 50mph and it was quiet so figured it must be the cable. Pulled the cable off the trans and pulled it completely out and cleaned it. Then I held a rag over the open end of the cable inside the car as a buddy shot pb blast into it then cleaned the gunk out with a q-tip. Put it all back together and its been quiet every since for about 2 weeks.

Hope this helps you out, mine got so loud that with the windows down and radio loud as crap you could still hear it, it started driving me crazy LOL
