Default Race valved Koni Yellows, bump stop

Are you suppose to cut the bump stops provided by Koni in half or leave alone when installing the Koni/Gc setup. Searched, couldnt find a straight answer. Thanks.

Are you talking about bump stops provided by GC? If so, those would already be shorter than stock, so no, you wouldn't want to cut those down any further. If you're talking about stock length bump stops, I would cut them down to give you as much true shock travel without any influence of the bumpstop.....one of the reasons for the shorter shock body.

The bump stops came from Koni. I dont have the stock to compare.

Depends on the amount of free travel the shock has with the bumpstops.

That's not quite right.

If you want the bumpstop to be functional, you need to keep at least enough such that the bumpstop fully compresses before the shock (or any other part) actually bottoms out. That is the point of a bumpstop, to be the part that bottoms out and prevents damage to other parts. Anything longer than that is suspension tuning and up the the driver to determine.
