Blown tranny? CV joints?!?! NEED HELP!
So first off. I'm stupid. It's pouring rain. And I was hitting 2 step and was gonna launch out and I kinda did but then the car stop moving... And you can now put it in any gear without using the clutch and if you put it in gear it won't go anywhere. I looked under the hood and remember its pouring rain so it was just a quick check. The CV shaft is still moving when I press on the gas. It just won't go. I think it might be the barrings in the shaft but I need some opinions... Oh and its a 93 civic ex!
If you broke an axle, or even popped out the passenger side axle, the car would go into gear but not move when you release the clutch and press the gas pedal. If you broke the diff, the transmission should be noisy when the clutch is released. Check axles first since this is the cheaper fix... if they are fine, you likely have damaged the transmission.
I had one of my friends who's a Honda guru look at it. Its doing exactly as you say and he said its the axle so I'm going to the junkyard tomorrow to take one off and replace mine
You have a broken axle. An open differential distributes torque evenly across the outputs. If there is no torque on one (because it is broken) the vehicle will not move.
You should address your launch ability as eventually you will ruin the differential and transmission case. Your lucky only the axle joint broke.
