93 LS cable trans/clutch pedal issues
My car is a 93 LS with a cable A1 manual transmission. I've owned 5 integras and have worked on every last thing between them all, but this issue stumps me.
The car is garaged all year except for driving it on the weekends, so this issue arose at the end of last summer, and I've only been poking at it once in a while.
Last summer, the clutch pedal stuck to the floor and wouldn't come back. Even if I pulled it back up with my foot, the clutch didn't actually release, like something was stuck on the transmission end. Asking around, I was told it could be the cable having stretched or the pressure plate on my stage3 clutch finally giving out. Fist things first, I replaced the cable but with no luck. Second thing was buy a whole new clutch kit. I installed it yesterday (new throw out, pilot, plate and disc) but the issue still persists.
One thing I noticed was the lever on the transmission that the clutch cable pulls on is STIFF AS HELL. It was so hard to work back and forth when the transmission was out of the car. I doused it in PB Blaster and got it moving a little more freely, but I think this might be where the problem is.
My question is, what the heck caused this? So these just go bad? I haven't heard of that before if so. Is something binding up inside the transmission? Is this lever supposed to be stiff and the issue is actually something else?
I'm pretty savvy with older Hondas, but this one has me stumped. Especially because I spent 8hrs by myself yesterday removing and replacing the transmission only to have failed.
If you have any insight, please let me know. Thanks!

Update: we also have a 92 gsr. Disconnected the cable from its transmission and that lever/throw out bearing rod moves easily up and down... Which leaves me to think my LS has a bad trans or shaft somewhere within.
It sounds like it might have busted the bolt that holds the fork on the shaft. The clutch lever just slides into a hole, and the fork bolts to it.
Its stupid simple. Take off the bolt, pull the throw out bearing and fork off, slide the clutch arm out. Make sure the throw out bearing slides on the input shaft smoothly.

Thank you. This is what I needed to hear.
So there's nothing connected to the other end of that shaft? It's not going to disconnect something on the other end, inside the trans case?
