1) from what I remember 6800rpm redline
2) well for performance gains.. it matters on how much u are willing to invest and how will invest it
3) I've had my 98 3dr for approx 90k miles and I am the original owner.. haven't had one problem whatsoever..7K seems a tad steep but if it's in perfect condition and 50k is kinda low mileage I say go for it..

OH YEAH Welcome to HT

If you feel like doing it, the #1 best mod for that motor is a 92-00 Civic EX transmission. It helps in acceleration so much, and it doesn't effect the gas mileage. you can find a good condition EX tranny for around $300.

you would not believe how true that statement is. Welcome to H-T and always make sure you search for something first. People get kinda **** when the same question is asked like 50 million times. And don't worry about any flames, it's all in good humor. It's kinda like your freshmen year, we gotsta pick on you. But don't sweat it and don't get mad, we're all just one big happy family here.

Welcome,

To get the most potent power out of your car, swap the engine.

But before you do drive the car for 5-6 months and get a feels of the stock power (or lack there of)

This will give you a real appreciation for the new spent money on the engine.

And welcome !

And remember, SEARCH is your friend

Welcome!!

This site is by far the best around. Be sure to check out Tom's guidelines https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=278663 so that you won't get into too much trouble around here. As previously stated you will be able to track down an infinite amount of information here about Hondas and Acuras. Believe it or not but you'll also find good general automotive knowledge as well that you can apply to any type of vehicle you may own down the road.

If you get yourself into a hatch the general public's opinion will tell you to swap engines. Pretty much any 94-01 Acura Integra engine will fit with little modification as well as the Honda DOHC (dual overhead cam) engine know as the B16. Again, use this site's search function to answer more specific questions concerning things.

Since you've mentioned that power is not your priority right now. I'd suggest using Honda's excellent suspension as a starting point for mods. Start out with a nice front/rear sway bar combo, strut bars, springs/strut combo, or a full coilover package depending on your budget. Trust me, it's not very difficult or expensive to get that hatchcrap to handle like it's on rails. Once again, please use the search function for all your specific questions regarding the above mentioned options.

Most importantly, HAVE FUN!! It's a fun hobby but it gets a tad expensive at times.

Stock - who felt like being extra kind and helpful this morning.
