Hello all,

I have a very specific issue with my accord. I have searched all over with no luck and have spent countless dollars with mechanics to no avail. I need help!

The issue is as follows:

During the summers and not usually the winter my car will have the problem.

It occurs during traffic jams and drive thru lines. As well if I stay parked in neutral for 10 or more minutes.

After some driving slowly in first gear second gear first gear Stop first gear stop and so on (traffic conditions) my RPMs idle in neutral around 1700 to start. Then after a little more traffic they idle at 2000 then 2500 then 3000 and so on.

The car goes back to normal if either of 2 conditions are met. The first is to shut off the car and wait 20 or so minutes. The second is if traffic clears up and I drive in 3rd gear or higher about 50km per hour or faster for an uninterrupted stretch of road for about 2km.

I will record a video of this happening and post the link sometime today or tomorrow because I am not sure if I am expressing myself well.

Please help! This has been a problem for 3 or 4 years that no mechanic in my local area has fixed for me. Just taken my money and sent me on my way claiming it's fixed for it to be happening again in the very next traffic jam I'm in.

Edit.
No check engine light.
No codes.
Done several coolant flushes and made sure no air in coolant.
Cleaned throttle body and plate.
Purchased and installed a new idle air control valve.
None of these things have provided results and have been costly.
