Default Help!!! D series to b series. Won't run

Hi
My son recently had the idea to put a 2000 b16 Acura manual motor into his 98 d series civic automatic. My son has no previous mechanical experience but his friend who gave him the motor told him it's a piece of cake. Well 3 wks later the engine is in and fired but barely idles and won't rev. As soon as I push the throttle it drops and wants to stall. So we got the recamended p75 computer and step down harness. Also did the crank flutter bypass. Still no good. The engine was a perfect running engine b4. I have to assume it's wiring or computer related. Any help appreciated. I don't know much about Hondas. This is a steep learning curve for me.

Did he convert to manual? If not what transmission did you use? You didn't list your model but did you conver the idle air control valve to 2 wire? Pull and post the check engine codes.

the code scanner wont work because he used a obd1 ecu. there isnt a 2000 b16 acura motor. you mean a b18b from the integra? he can get a obd2a ls ecu(not sure if it has an immobilizer)your son has to do the 3>2 wire for the iacv. he has to get the obd2b to odb2a harness, if they even make one. did he switch the tps sensor and the map sensor?

Round two prong sensor on side of the head. The round one on the thermostat hosing is the fan switch.
