2006 honda civic si clutch
hi guys im new here and have a 2006 civic si I need to replace the clutch in and im looking for a service manual for removing it. Im interested in the whole procedure from start to finish. I have a pretty well equipped shop and am aware that this procedures require a few special tools which im going to fab in my shop or make a work around for. if any one here has done a good video of it that would be great as well . I only have a few days to prepare for this and could use all the help I can get . pointers on where to jack this up to remove the cross member and support properly would be good as I have put it on ramps and a few stands but looks like its not right . also does the driverside axle have to come out? thanks guys hope I don't sound off base
Superhonda dot com has fsm. Idk for ur civic but worth a look.
YouTube for video.
And just a word of advice, if it's anything like a prelude which fwd it prolly is, u have to remove at the least ur axles, radius rod pass side, and use a pickle fork to seperate the lower balljoints. Me, I found I had more room to work with by removing the front crossmember Inc both radius rods so the alignment Doesn't get too messed up.
The more stuff u remove, the easier it'll be for a first timer. It's more time consuming that way, but effective.
And label your bolts!!

well ...I have it up on stands and drivers axle out and most of the underhood components removed . I ended up spending yesterday building the special tool that Honda says you need( engine support)looks good and should work every bit as good as the factory one even though I didn't attatch to the exact spot the factory one does. gotta pick up a longer bolt at lowes this am for it to have a little more thread engagement on the block. im guessing that the next step is to remove the main cross member...I would like to NOT remove the whole tranny only the bell housing if possible. any advice for me guys?
Yeah I answered my own? When we got to wrenching tranny is on the ground and clutch is out.were gonna take the rest of the day and drink some beer on the river as its gonna rain tommorow. so back to the garage to install the clutch and see how far we get. Only gave a few days of his visit left so hope we enjoy our afternoon.
well the slave cylinder adjustment is kind of a non issue ! my nephew stayed all weekend and had a great time with him . tinkered on his SI a bit and he headed out about 11 on sunday got with in a half hour of the base and hydro planned flipped the car and well that's all she wrote for the Honda and new clutch . he sent me some pics of it and when I get them on the pc ill post them. lots of good stuff left over trying to get him to get it from the insurance co
