94 honda accord automatic transmission won't engage
I just recently installed an engine and transmission which I purchased from HMotorsOnline in my 94 accord lx. Engine runs great however the automatic transmission will not engage in forward or reverse gears. Fluid is at the correct level and is genuine Honda ATF. Reverse gear will occasionally engage but will slip severely and nothing happens in any forward gears. What am I missing?
Did you drain the transmission of old fluid before installation/startup? What was the color/consistency?
Does the transmission make any whining/whirring noises when the engine is on, from the torque converter/bell housing area?
How many quarts did you put in?
Can you drain the fluid into a clean pan and report back on any discoloration or particles.

The transmission shipped mostly empty so we put 5 quarts in. There was a whining from the transmission area.
Update: pulled the solenoids off and one was bad. Swapped it from the old transmission and is running in gear now. Will update again if it stops.
