I have a 2000 honda civic LX with an automatic transmission. I'm having issues with the shifter not moving. I know it is not the brake switch, or the solenoid that releases the lever for the brake release. I have taken everything off of the shifting mechanism and it still will not move. see attached images. please excuse the acorns
Ok, he asked if the shifter moved when the wire was disconnected, considering it moved while it was connected I believe it is safe to assume that it will move without the wire attatched. I will try without the wire tomorrow morning and update.
Also NotARaCist, if you have nothing useful to say that pertains the the topic being discussed please do not post I am looking for information I do not need smart *** comments to spam my email. Thank you
assumptions= useless in diagnostics. asking for help, then not applying practical information to diagnose will make you a target of hate on this forum, for sure. remove the cable from the shifter and see if it moves. since ronj didnt mama bird it for you, i will. if the shifter moves with the cable disconnected, you have a fargled shift cable. if it doesnt, you have a shifter lacking the proper cigrits to work. see the importance of diagnostic work?
