Icon2 Integra Swap Questions

Hi guys im new and i couldnt find any thread that answered my questions so i decided to make this one.
anyways, i have a 97 integra GS auto that was just in an accident and is not worth saving, the motor and trans still function and want to save that because money is tight right now. i can either buy another auto gs with a bad motor and swap it or i can buy a 4 door with no motor or trans and the trans was manual.

basically what im trying to ask is, can an auto trans go into a car that was previously manual with relative ease? thanks guys

You would be better off ditching the auto trans and running a manual if the shell you found was manual. I dont believe the body harness on the manual chassis will have the clips/ wiring needed for the auto trans. I'm sure you could re-run the engine/body harness, but it depends on your level of commitment to the auto.

I'm no expert in swaps, so we'll have to wait for the rest of the peanut gallery to chime in...maybe the harness does have the necessary wiring you need..idk

You can go auto to manual not manual to auto. The mounting location on the trans casing are different as is the mount bracket location on the frame rail if I'm not mistaken. No one makes a manual to auto swap mount. So short of cutting off and welding on a the auto mount bracket you can not do it.

so could use the aut k-member and put it in the manual? and since the years are different (97 auto and 99 manual) does that effect the wiring harness or could i just reuse the 997 auto one?

Your best bet is to buy the 4 door. Buy a manual trans and swap in your old engine. It would the fastest, cheapest, and easiest way to get back on the road again.
