Coolant spraying out of overflow reservoir
First off i have searched this to no avail, car is em1 with built bottom and turbo kit, been having a strange issue where coolant will spray out if the overflow only happens when you get into boost but only the very first time on every drive, ie i drove it for an hour the other day and smelled coolant about 5 mins in then when i got home i checked and it was all dry around the bottle and on the ic pipe that it has been getting on any help is appreciated
How's that Head Gasket looking.
Mine does the same thing.. because a cylinder combustion is likely getting past the HG, and overpressurizing the cooling system. Sprays out water (coolant?) like you said.
I popped at LEAST 3 hoses after it "sealed" and I said I will not pop a 4th.. Steam every time. Water out reservoir.
So, I say again.. How is your Head Gasket.
It may not be a huge leak but with boost, it may not need one...
(oh and it would then stop because there is not as much coolant to be pushed out. Are you losing coolant?)

The engine has maybe 5000 miles on it and it has a cometic head gasket with arp studs is it possible it could fail that quickly if so that sucks, have not really had to much time to mess with it since i noticed the problem i did replace the overflow cap hoping they would help because it was only like 10 bucks i am using the stock pcv box on the back of the block and the valve cover is running an open hose out the bottom of the car a better breather system is on my to do list but money had been tight lately
Also i just changed the oil no coolant in it, and no oil in coolant either only coolant lost is maybe 1/4 total overflow capacity then that's it
Well, you have a pressure problem somewhere. Yes, a brand new motor can fail, if it isn't prepped and assembled correctly. Buy/borrow/rent a block testing kit, and also test (or have tested) your radiator cap.

It's a syringe, a graduated cylinder, and a piece of litmus paper, or other chemical tester. It changes colors if there's exhaust gasses in the coolant. Most parts stores can rent it to you, you'll just have to pay for the litmus, which is only $5-$8 usually.
