Hey guys, I'm fairly new to the Honda game and I'm not too knowledgeable on the dimensions of engines and such. I've found a wrecking '01 Accord for $300 with only 150,000 miles on it and I would like to go for the build, as it will be my very first. I realize that the mounting of the f23a1(VTEC) and the f22b2(non-VTEC) are probably different, so there might have to be some fabrication involved. What do you guys think? Will it fit?

 

Just what are you trying to do?

If you are taking the 4 cyl from the 2001 and putting it into a 4 cyl 5th gen (94-97), then yes it will fit and has been done/covered/written about/documented.

 

You have a 5th gen Accord and want to put a newer, vtec motor in it?
Unbelievable....

There are many writeups on, this, with a little time and research, you can find what you need.

Yeah that's basically what I want to do, I just need to know if there are any specific thing I need to watch out for (i.e.- mounting, engine dimensions, etc.)

 

F and H blocks are dimensionally the same, cept for the ATTS Prelude engines.
