battery draining, please help!
Did some searching, couldn't find anything helpful... Bare with me as I try to describe what's happening and thank you for helping!!
To start off, I have a 90 civic hatch. 2 days ago, my car wouldn't start. Put in key, lights come on, turn key, starter tries to click once and slowly dies out.(2-3 seconds) I charged my battery that night and the next morning it turned on fine. Last night it wouldn't turn on (8 hours after i drove it) and did the same as described before. Charged again last night. Turned on fine today and drove for an hour. Got home, turned car off for a few minutes and tried to turn on. Same issue I've described. Now, I have a new starter, new alternator, new battery and new pos cable. Do I need to replace my neg cable or battery? If not then what's draining my battery so fast?

This is basic troubleshooting info. Place a test light in between the neg cable and the battery post (using the test light as a continuation of the neg cable) then pull fuses one at a time and put them back until the light goes out, this will identify the offending draw. Then you need to LOOK for a solution to the problem instead of not thinking with logic to find a viable repair. Good luck. I have found that most of the time the issue is aftermarket equipment not properly installed in the first place.

Edit: I'm gonna charge the battery and test the fuses with a multimeter, how you were saying. I'll update tomorrow after it charges tonight.
Where did the battery come from? It may be bad out of the box, yes it happens, you want a battery built by johnson controls I have found after many years these work best and last longest. I was not trying to insult you, merely get you to think about processes in your car that would cause these issues. You need a helms manual, it will be invaluable in your troubleshooting. ALL others are inferior and are not going to give the results you seek. Any aftermarket equipment can fail. I have, in the past, performed custom installs in exotic automobiles, boats and RV's. I have seen a lot of equipment fail out of the box or had a very short service life. START HERE, disconnect all non oem equipment and see what results you get. I also am not saying that you have purchased junk, just offering a possible solution. I have installed a lot of expensive, high end equipment that failed instantly or not long into service. If you have replaced any component with a "big box" remanufactured or rebuilt item, PLEASE remove it, and replace with a NEW not remanufactured or rebuilt item. I have used these items in the past and got tired of replacing the items over and over, I have better things to do with my time. So will you at some point. Good luck with your quest.
