I have searched the forums and not found the answers I am looking for. As luck has it I have wound up with 2 cars: a 93 del sol si with a bad d16z6(car is 100% stock), and a 95 integra ls with a 2000 gsr swap(not stock at all) with no title. The teg runs and drives like a beast but cannot be put on the street. My first question is what parts from the teg can be used on the del sol for the swap. As far as I can tell the teg is running obd 1(chipped/tuned ecu but no id tags anywhere), no cel's, 5200 vtec, 9400 redline. I know the axles and some mounts can be swapped to the sol, but can I just used the wiring harness from the teg as it runs perfect now? From what I have researched the ac will require a crv or del sol dohc ac bracket. I will have to get either a sol dohc shift linkage or aftermarket. I would like this to retain all functionality as factory(ac,ps,cruise,...etc). The b18c1 already has a 4-2-1 header that seems like it will work in the sol. Any good advice is greatly welcome.
Integra mounts will work but I suggest getting solid mounts, Shift linkage will have to be from a b16 delsol and you will need the post mount off the B16 block. Normal post mount will not work. You can take it off any b16. I didnt wanna pay a huge amount of money for a shift linkage from honda so I cut and welded one and it works great! Everything else is just like any b swap your vtec harness will work for a vtec b series just get your ecu for obd1 i believe.
This will be my first b swap. I was thinking of using the entire teg wiring harness since the engine is a obd2 engine and it has already been made to run in an obd1 chassis.
I'm not a expert when It comes with obd and stuff but from what i know my ecu is for a obd 1 and I used an integra harness so your in the clear. I think so I'd get a second opinion. But I am certain of all other info I gave you because Ive had to swap a d for a b a few times in delsols. now i'm in the middle of converting my SIR delsol from K to B ahah
The radiator will be fine, but the hoses won't want to play nicely together. Don't use the Integra's wiring harness - just use the one that's already in your Del Sol.
the reason I wanted to use the integra harness is because the swap is obd2 from a 2000 gsr, but it is currently running and driving in a obd 1 ls chassis. also running an obd 1 ecu. I believe if I use the teg harness it should eliminate wiring headaches.
That's a good one. No, it really wouldn't eliminate any wiring headaches. It would actually create ten times more problems than it could even remotely solve. Nearly, if not all, of your sensors will plug in with no problems. The dash and bay harnesses are unified, one way or the other. Either they plug into each other, or they're all one harness. Either way, swapping your Integra harness in would involve literally rewiring your entire damn car.
I'm 80% sure that this will work, obd2 integra harness into an obd1 92-95 civic/del sol. The 3 plugs will plug on the engine harness will plug right in to the car. I saw this similar setup on another del sol, my cousins del sol, before it was sold. obd2 engine harness in an obd1 car. Everything worked.
