Measure what?
I'm going to replace all of my suspension rubber, bushings, boots, etc. Some body said I could measure, so to get close to my current alignment. I know about tie-rod ends, but what else do I need to measure, to get the alignment close? I work in a very rural area and will need to drive quite a ways for an alignment.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Do It Yourself Alignment Tips
This website gives a rundown on how you can get it close using the DIY string method. If you want more info just search DIY alignment on YouTube and there are videos that show this method as well.
If you have a stock Honda then I'm pretty sure you won't really have much you can adjust outside of the tie rods, and they are really the only thing that's semi-critical for your journey to the alignment shop. If you count how many turns it is to take the old tie rods off and then install the new ones with the same number of turns, then do the string method to check the toe quick, you should be fine.
Just changing bushings and other OEM components will not greatly affect your camber or anything in the rear really. It is however worthwhile to check your toe and get a proper alignment ASAP. I ran for two weeks without properly aligning with about 1 degree of toe in, and it wore out a brand new pair of tires.
