Default Recovering from bad paint job

I needed to fix a small area, but got primer and paint on area where it shouldn't.

Basically, there are primer and paint on top of the factory clear coat. How do I get it off?

If your talking about overspray, I would try a bit of lacquer thinner and then buff it

I took the clay approach. I am seeing some of the paint coming off cause it's on the clay bar, but on the car itself, I see very very little progression, probably none at all.

Two more thing...

1. Some of the overspray have sitting for months now.

2. I assume clay will not remove aftermarket clearcoat?

I want to try the thinner approach, anyone wanna share some advice?

There is a small area where there is layer of aftermarket paint on it. Me, being an idiot, went a little over board and try to blend the old paint with the factory clear coat.

Is wetsanding and buffing still the solution to this sort of mess? Will I even see the factory clearcoat anymore under those layer of paint?

did you re clear the whole panel? have a feeling this might be a spray paint job?

when using clay bar you need to kneed the clay every 10-20 seconds

USE SOME RUBBING COMPOUND FIRST, THEN COME BACK OVER IT WITH POLISHING COMPOUND. LAST STEP IS TO MIRROR GLAZE IT. CAN GET ALL 3 AT AUTO ZONE.
