B20 swap vs b16
So I've been considering doing an engine swap and was looking into the b16 but then I found the b20 an noticed they're dirt cheap compared to the b16 (500$ vs 1500)$ and wanted to know the pros and cons of the engines.
Also I've only done an engine swap in an old (rwd) Datsun 510how difficult will it be in a 98 honda civic ex? Will I also need to swap the transmission or can I keep my current transmission?

Cant go wrong with either setup. The b20s high displacement allows for its torquiness, and you definately feel it in a civic. Cons, it cant rev high, and i think your mpg will be in the low 20s.
B16 has like no torque so getting off the line will feel like a sohc, but it revs high and vtec is fun and addicting. Cons, low displacement low torque, but better mpg between 25-27 with moderate driving.
And you will have to use a b series tranny.
