Default P06 in a 93 1.6L Si

Yes my ECU just went out too, I smelled the burning smell and coasted.

I just ordered a manual P06 ECU, that should work in my 1993 Hatchback 1.6L Si 5-Spd.

Any thoughts welcome..

8 year old bump? And you didn't ask a question? Well my thoughts are that a P06 ECU is meant for a D15B7 engine. Your "1993 Hatchback 1.6L Si 5-Spd" should be using a D16Z6 engine. If this is all correct so far, yes it will run but that is not the right ECU for your car with respect to its original engine. The P06 ECU will not operate the VTEC system at all unless it's chipped properly.

it will run the car as stated above, to run it correctly you will need to have it converted to P28 spec

Dear all,
I am very new to Honda-tech. I have civic 2005 Vtec Japan car. Recently I had issue with engine head. My mechanic changed the head with second hand non vtec one. Now as there is no vtec solenoid, I am getting continuous engine light on dashboard. How to bypass this light permanently. What will go wrong if this head is used, car is running normal. The error code is P1253.
Please reply urgently.

that code is vtec malfunction, so it seems your original head was vtec, simple solution would be to get a non vtec ECU

you will get better help in the correct forum for your model\year civic which is below
