BUYER BEWARE SKYLARR REED AKA Sidewayzap1
COME ONE, COME ALL, AND TAKE A GANDER AT THE THIEF AND SCAMMER KNOWN AS SKYLARR REED.
Everyone who reads this who also hates scammers, and thieves as much as I do, should call/text him, and tell him what a piece of **** he is. Phone number: 480-635-6946
I paid Skylarr Reed $600 on May 4th for a Chargespeed hood, and a mint set of black 02-03 S2000 door panels. We had talked for weeks before hand about the transaction. At the time of payment, Skylarr asked for me to give him a week to ship the stuff out, which was fine with me, considering the size of the items. For over a month he has given me excuse after excuse about shipping the stuff. He says I'm going to ship tomorrow or in the next couple of days, once a week. And as of now, he is completely ignoring me. I finally messaged him Sat night, and told him that he had until today to either send me a tracking number, or send me my money back, or I was posting this. He read the message, and did not respond. I have talked to him many many times before all of this, and he seemed like a good guy, now I see he is not. I am posting all of his information below, and you all are welcome to do with it what you want. Call, text, email, facebook message, whatever you feel that a scamming thief needs. I ask you friends and fellow enthusiasts to help me make this guy infamous. Thanks!
Today Skylarr told me straight to my face that if I don't remove this, that he will never send me anything. He told me straight up, that he would steal from me.

damnsorry for your troubles and i will keep an eye out for this person on the forums i belong to as well and post scammer all over his threads in capital letters lol
OP gifted the money.
Yeah.
OP it sucks you got scammed, but this thread is like someone yelling about the Nigerian Prince that stole their money and sent them a bad check for $10000... no one gives a ****, and if you're so dumb that you fell for it, then that's your bad.
Lesson to all - NEVER GIFT MONEY THROUGH PAYPAL! There have been many times over the years that someone has asked me to send them money as a gift, and not once has it been legit. There should NEVER be a reason they need the money to be gifted. The only reason someone wants the money to be gifted is because they have no intention of sending you any parts.
Yeah.

I have sold and bought 10's of thousands of dollars worth of car parts from HT and FB. I have sent money as a gift and never been ripped off. Lots have sent me Money as a gift and never been ripped off. I even accidentally one time sent money as a gift when I meant to send as a payment for goods and service. Caught it in time and PayPal refunded me.
Don't get me wrong I believe you need to do your research on the individual and it is recommended to send money as "goods and service" not as a gift.
But let's cut the guy some slack and try to help him out
Hope you get your money back OP or parts.

OP, I hope everything pans out for you in the best way. It's really sad that we have people out here who don't have any sense of respect, integrity and responsibility. Ironically enough, these are the same people who bitch and complain the loudest when karma bites them in the ***.

Sorry if I came off like a dick, but hopefully this thread saves at least one other member money.
If you are old enough to be using paypal, you should really know the difference between a gift and a payment. It sucks that the OP got scammed, and I have no love for thieves, but honestly... you can't leave your front door open and all the lights on and then get upset when you get robbed.
Consider this an expensive *** lesson, and just have faith that karma will kick this dude's *** eventually.
For everyone else... Don't ever sent money through Paypal as a gift, unless you are OK with the possibility of never receiving a product. There's nothing Paypal can, or will do, and for another 3% you could have had protection.
Also, don't ever ship anything worth over $500 without signature verification. All the buyer has to do is claim they never got the item, and Paypal will refund their money and take the money back out of your account. It's in the small print of Paypal's TOS that you need to send anything worth over $500 with a signature. I've been fucked on that one too.
Be safe out there guys.

I never gift money via PayPal unless i personally know the person their a friend of mine. The extra 3% is worth it to know im protected if the deal goes sour.
Maybe one day we will be able to buy and sell with ease and without worry, and act like the family of Honda enthusiasts that we are, rather than screwing people over and having to watch out for certain people. These guys make me ******* sick. Good luck to the OP, and it's a hard, expensive lesson learned, but who knows maybe he will make good on it.
OP post his address. Flights may be cheap for confrontation.
Find out where he or his wife/gf works and go after them.
Someone tried to scam me on ebay recently and I found out the ship to address was his work. So I called during the day and talked to his boss. **** him.

First off, this post wasn't to hear about sending a gift, or any of that. I've used paypal a billion times, and have sent and received money over 100 times as a gift. It isnt like I just made the decision to send as a gift out of nowhere. The guy and I had talked for months before we even talked about any kind of transaction. He also posted a lot on the s2000 pages, so he seemed like an honest guy. Also he never asked me to send the payment as a gift, he always just asked me to cover the fees. I offered to send as a gift, since I thought we were friends, and honestly I trusted him. **** happens, and a $600 loss isn't going to kill me. I didn't post this to get advice, or for people to tell me what I did wrong and right. I posted to shed light for the community on a scammer and thief. So, I don't need your judgement, and your opinion on what I do, or did, does not affect me. I thought I could trust the guy, and I was wrong. Simple as that.
Also If I knew his address it would already be posted. I wouldve sent every different kind of delivery I could to his house if I knew it. Pizza, chinese, sandwiches, backpage hookers, etc. I do know his wife, and mother are on his facebook if anyone was interested in that.

UPDATE: Thankfully I contacted Paypal, and gave them all of the information, and they filed a claim for me. Luckily Skylarr is too ******* dumb to check his account, so the claim went 10 days without a response, and my money was returned, but I want to make it clear that Skylarr Reed is a thief. After posting all of this, he texted me, and said if I didn't remove this, that he would never send me anything. Thanks to Paypal I got my money back. Skylarr was not involved at all.
This piece of **** is seriously trying to appeal the paypal case to get my money back. He is seriously going this far out of his way to try and steal my money.
not trying to change topic but i never purchased parts from a member via paypal how do i secure my payment if they come out being scam? i see dont send money as gift but if i send money normal way and i never receive my part would i be able to make a claim or get my money back? just to keep in mnd for future purchases im planning on doing and buying throught paypal
My last project was a dodge Dakota. Finding oem fender flares is hard I was able to find a set from a member on a forum. I also made the mistake of gifting money and got the exact same runaround as you are. I ended up contacting the police department in the guys area. They will go to his house and question him for internet fraud. This alone might be enough of a wake up call to get your parts or money. I ended up getting a refund sent to me.
good luck.
good luck.

If you send money through paypal for 'goods or service', you are automatically covered by Paypal's protection policy... meaning, if the seller never ships you anything, or the product is not as described, you can return the item for a full refund and Paypal will take care of it. If you send the money as a 'gift', there isn't anything Paypal can do, and if the seller decides not to send you anything, you're SOL.
Paypal charges a 3% fee for anything bought as 'goods or service', and that 3% is taken from the seller. Most people will ask you to include the fees for this reason, but some will ask you to send it as a gift so they don't have to pay the 3%. There are Paypal calculators online, just include an extra 3% when you pay so the seller gets his full amount. Don't ever gift money unless it's a friend.
What a waste of a thread
best question I can ask is "what is justahatch09 on my ignore list and Sidewayzap1 is not"? most likely HE tried to screw him ON PURPOSE. cant say I blame him, to bad he refunded it, so now since he made good, is the op going to remove the thread on the forums I see it on. NOPE
"Today Skylarr told me straight to my face that if I don't remove this, that he will never send me anything. He told me straight up, that he would steal from me"
I wouldnt either, and over the internet is not straight in your face,
Its not stealing you gave him a gift... ... ... ... ... you did, no one else on this forum made you do it, you did it. Then you run on here bad mouthing him on 4 forums cause of your mistake to begin with...
then you pop his wife's email, phone info, I hope this ***** is married to ronda rousey's trainer and she rapes you prison style...
then my favorite, you can link other forums where he ripped people off, yet didnt think to search before you jumped on their bandwagon
in march he could not sell anything ever again all rights revoked on the link you posted yet you gave him money in may?
do your homework, quit making stupid decisions, and this **** would have never happened

Wow, what a completely ignorant post. He never made anything right you ******* idiot. Paypal gave me my money back, Skylarr had nothing to do with it. Reading is fundamental, along with grammar, but I can tell from your fabulous post that you know nothing about either of those things. Go suck his dick, queer.

No this is not even the same...
If you were to compare the OP to a rape victim, this is the analogy you should had used --
The OP went online, found a members only club for swingers, joined, went to the party, got naked, got drunk and then got raped - and now it's crying about it.
DON"T EVER GIFT $$ on PAYPAL!!!
Why the **** would you do so???????????
