95 honda accord ex 2.2l 4cyl
When I first purchased my car, I noticed on my way home from picking it up that my D4 light was flashing. I am aware that it could be my transmission but have read information that states it could be my speedo head but I'm not sure. My car does not go in reverse, and when I do put it in reverse it makes a horrible screeching sound. My speedometer is also not working. Any suggestions on what it might be? Thank you!!!
I have looked everywhere in my car for the connector and I cannot find one. 😞 I took it to a mechanic and he said there wasn't one and it would cost to hook it up a certain way to find out what's wrong.
There is a blue two pin connector on the passenger kickboard by the carpet. Put a paper clip in the two metal pins inside with the key to the on position with the car off. You will count the numbers of blinks to tell you what the code or codes are. Do some searches on youtube to find detailed howto-s.
1. Solenoid Valve A Lockup Control
Disconnect grey connector of upper pair of solenoids.
Rotate connector of solenoid facing you with lock tab up.
Left pin will be Valve A.
Check for damage or corrosion in the connectors or tot he wiring.
Check resistance is 12-24Ω between left pin and body ground.
If so, connect battery voltage to pin. You should hear a solid click when power is applied and removed.
If so remove shift solenoid pair from transmission. Check filter gasket for any debris. Clean any and check solenoid(s) are not fouled either.
Reinstall/reconnect.
7. Solenoid Valve A Shift Control
Disconnect grey connector of lower pair of solenoids.
9. NC sensor
Disconnect electrical connector for senor.
Check resistance is 400-600Ω for sensor.
If within resistance, check wiring and connectors for wear/damage/corrosion.
Check resistance between D15/D17 at TCM 400-600Ω, if open look for open in wire, repair.
Check for grounding of D15 or D17, if found repair shorts in Blu/GRn or Blu/Yel
If electrical checks out, remove sensor and clean end of debris/slurry. If ther is a build up, recommend removing the NM sensor and verify it is also clean.
Cover the basics first, if 1 and 7 pop back up it may be an issue with the wiring to the ECU. I'm to lazy to post the full diagnostics so do the simple stuff first and verify there are no obvious wiring issues.
