Hey guys, I figured it would be worth my time to at least ask if anyone has come across any good alternatives or replicas of the SiR bumpers for the 96-98 civic hatchback. I love the look of them, and quite frankly feel that its the best look for the 96-98. The prices for these bumpers are just a bit too expensive for me to justify getting them OEM.

So before I toss out the idea all together of getting the bumpers I'd ideally like to have, I figured I could ask around and see if anyone knows of any some-what "quality" replicas out there with decent fitment.

Before I start getting scolded for considering a replica please understand that I agree that the OEM pieces would be of better quality, fitment, and durability. I just can't bring myself to pay $1600 for the oem parts (perfect example would be passwordjdm.com). That's not including the fact that I live in SC which would make shipping an additional $300.

If you know anyone who has some decent replicas or know someone with them, please post a pic and give me a heads up on where to purchase them. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

That being said the ebay brands seem to fit ok

No but I see them regularly on craigs list ebay edition hondas and they have good fitment.

 

oh okay, yeah I emailed the guy from the eBay store that sells them and he said it fits really well. As long as it's a 96-98, I mean I assumed he would say that but I'd really like to make sure if I could from somebody else's experience

 

Things like that will be extremely hit or miss. For some people, it'll line up perfectly. Others, it'll kind of line up, but there will be funny gaps. Others still, it won't line up at all.

It is, as they say, a crappenshutz.

Well you can only get them on ebay and there are reviews for the products so there's that

 

Well the ones on eBay all have stock photos, and they don't say whether or not that's the actual bumper. So it's kind of hard to say they have good fitment based on the pics. I posted in the SiR bumper thread to see if anyone was rocking some replicas. Maybe they can shine a bit of light on this subject.
