I got this issue since couple months ago. The brake lamp light (not the parking brake light) came on intermittantly in the beginning. Now it's on for 95% of the time. But the brake lights are all good(regular, high mount, and spoiler).

I checked the bulb contacts, they are all nice and clean. I replaced the bulbs and brake lamp sensor 2 times, still no help.

What should I do next to check further? TIA.

 

Low brake fluid will cause that and if low check the brake pads don't just top the fluid off.

 

He said it's not the "parking brake" warning light. So it's nothing to do with the brake fluid.

If you replaced the sensor, bulb, and checked the contacts, then it could be the wiring. Somewhere the wire is breaking, or it's the instrument panel pcb. Take the instrument panel off and chekc the board to is if there is any cracks or burning marks.

 

Connection sockets on tail light caused by penertated water due to worn trim gasckets would oftenly cause such cases,
this cause may happens even with the harness of the Brake light Relay located to the sides of the rear tail lights, check the worn out rear gascket and folow with harness crusion removed , clean & tight grips and see if the cause is removed.
