Me and my CD5 Accord
Hey everyone, glad to be on Honda Tech!
My name is Filipinoy95, I am a college student, photographer, PC gamer, and an import enthusiast.
I have an automatic 1994 Honda Accord EX sedan with 230k miles on the cluster.
To be honest, this is my first car. I saved it from the dismantler in 2013 for a decent price. Although it is a salvage title, it had the straighest and cleanest body in the yard and only needed a few minor repairs.
A few months after I bought my car, I had my first mod. a friend of mines told me that he had found a set of Tein Street Coilovers. I picked them up in a heart beat for dirt cheap, $100 and they were in great condition. This find sped my project by months.
After a year, I decided to install sidemarkers. I have to say, this is one of the scariest mods I have ever accomplished since I'm not really mechanically inclined, but everyone has to start somewhere right? Anyway, the finishing product was great and well worth the effort.
Several months later, I added a Megan strut tower brace and a Progress sway bar soon followed after.
My most recent mod I've done was added an AEM short-ram intake. I know, its a pointless mod for a stock engine but I knew what the benefits and cons were. It was going to happen at some point. When I do my engine swap, I'm just going to stick with the factory intake manifold and just replace the factory air box with a K&N or AEM cone for sound.
My upcoming projects (in sequential order) are:
1. 94/95 to 96/97 front bumper conversion.
Many may not see a difference between the two front bumpers but I liked the smoothness of the 96/97 bumpers. This project is a "collect parts as you go" type of project since I need a new set of corner lights and fog lights for the new bumper, and paint but I'm willing to go through the work.
I kind of want to go for a sleeper type look but with a kick. Right now I have a fake mugen lip (got it for free) on my 94/95 bumper and it looks really nice, but I'm starting to go for a cleaner, oem-like look.
2. Engine with a manual transmission swap.
I am thinking of doing this project in two parts DEPENDING on what swap I do. I am thinking of two different swaps. One is the common H22A swap and the other is the J32 V6 swap. More research is needed of course.
I hope to learn more from Honda-Tech and meet new members!
