Beware of '01 PY ITR in Eugene, OR!
Beware of this '01 PY ITR (01-0807) being sold in Eugene, OR by Acura of Eugene (Kendall Acura). Drove for a total of 9 hours to go look at this car only to be extremely disappointed. Was ready to cash them out if it was as perfect as they were claiming it was. Wasted my time for nothing. This dealership lied to me (as expected) like no tomorrow. They're super firm on the price at $11,980. Has 160,000+ miles on it.
Flaws:
- Driver side airbag has been replaced
- Front bumper has been replaced due to an accident (missing VIN sticker)
- Front reinforcement bar is heavily bent (you can see it through the lower grille area of the front bumper)
- Heavily dinged on both sides (15-20 door dings on each side, driver and passenger)
- Hood has been replaced due to an accident (missing VIN sticker)
- Rear bumper has been replaced due to an accident (missing VIN sticker)
- SRS light bulb has been removed from the cluster

That sucks to hear, they obviously know type R's are hard to come by and see waiting for someone that it's willing to look past the flaws in order to get a type r.
You've definetly pointed out some legitimate flaws like the SRS light bring disabled & the bent reinforcement bar, even the hood. But who cares about a plastic bumper being replaced in a 14 year old car?
$12k for a 160k mile car with minor flaws is not that far off, probably closer to $11k would be market value.
What exactly is the complaint about anyway? If anything the dealer was just vague about the description, probably didn't know about the bent bar & I seriously doubt they would sell you a car with an airbag problem.

Someone will buy it, that's all that matters to them. They should have just listed the faults, and said does not effect price. 11,900 drives it home. We must accept everything with a grain of salt. This car was not the one for you, but it will before someone else. The downside is 9hrs of your time and efforts were wasted.
Good luck with your hunt, earnestly hope you find the one for you!

When an airbag has deployed it isn't considered a "minor" flaw. The dealership knew about EVERYTHING because they admitted to it once I confronted them. Their defense was that it still runs and drives and that's ALL that really matters. The reinforcement bar is HEAVILY bent, pushing the core support. That's not a "minor" flaw. Yes, the bumpers being replaced and being horribly painted is considered a minor flaw but the other big flaws aren't minor in any way. Acura shouldn't be selling a car with SAFETY problems like that. If that got into an accident again the airbags wouldn't deploy at all. They're claiming the car is perfectly fine and it isn't. I've called Acura of America and they'll be looking into this matter. They CAN NOT sell a car with these type of issues.
