I am hooping someone has some advise for me. So I bought this civic with a JDM b16 unknown tranny there is no identified sticker on it no lSD stamps on the case, anyways when I got the car it would go into 2nd a low speeds but would then have trouble down shifting back to 2nd, it wouldn't really grind it just acted like second didn't exist. So I thought maybe the shifter bushings where bad(they where really bad). After installing the bushing I now not only cannot down shift into 2nd I now cannot down **** into 1st until the car has stopped completely.

I wanna know what you guys think it is?
If I do need a full rebuild for syncros like im thinking is there anyway to identify the tranny without pulling the case and counting the teeth on the main shaft and counter shaft?

 

It would help to at least know what TYPE of transmission it is in and what year vehicle it's in. They made 9.5 generations of the Civic. There are cable and hydro transmissions as well. Depending on overall setup it may not even by an internal transmission problem unless one was created by grinding gears.

 

So B16 is in a 92 civic 4 door. I would love to know what type. I'm pretty sure it's a hydro trans, but all identification on it has been removed.

 

Good clear pictures of the trans from both the top and underneath will help.
