Default Honda HRV vs Mazda CX3, which would you recommend?

I test drove the 2015 HRV and the CX3, both their premium trim. To me, the CX3 seemed to have better interior. Both drove ok. Anyone has experience with them and prefer one over the other and why?

Mazda CX3

Honda HRV

Having driven both, I'm partial to the HRV, but that may be because I typically know what I'm getting into with a Honda, but Mazdas have been iffy (CX7, for example).

What did you end up with? HRV all the way.

Honda guy for 30 years so I may be bias but I went with HR-V. I did spend time with the CX3 before I made the final decision so here is my observation. CX3 is suppose to be "quicker" but honestly you can't tell the difference. CX3 is suppose to handle better but honestly, in the real world the HR-V corners just as well and gives a far more sophisticated ride. The interior of the CX3 has poor ergonomics for the driver, back seat room is tight and cargo area is way too small for a vehicle in this segment. Not to mention, Honda has the added versatility of the magic seats. The CX3 felt cheap and having driven them both back to back, the HR-V's superior build quality was a striking contrast. I do have regrets however buying this type of vehicle after owning many Si's and other performance oriented offerings from Honda and others. I guess I am now looking at this as a stop gap measure until the new Si or Type R finally makes it here. Plus, this being my first auto tranny, I look forward to rowing my own again.
