2001 Civic EX Tranny Problem?
I know this has been discussed and I have read many post, but I am wondering how different are the 05 tranny's from the 01's and what all would I need or should I expect.
I bought the 01 about 5 months ago w/ a bad tranny that was rebuilt about 2 years ago and w/o knowing there was a difference I picked up a low miles 05 EX Tranny from a friend of mine. Well yesterday I finally had the time to start this swap and saw that the numbers on the trans were different. So can some one give me a heads up on what to expect or point me to a post where someone has done this already
Thanks
I also grabbed the 05 ECU
I have an 01 ex w/ a bad tranny has anyone swapped it w/ a newer 5spd tranny. Automatic 5spd that is?

Umm... there's no such thing as an automatic 5-speed for the D17. They're all 4-speed automatics.
Here's the technical specifications for the '05 chassis: 2005 Honda Civic Coupe Specifications - Honda.com

That throws and even bigger wrench into the problem. So I guess the next question is what's the difference between the BMXA and SLXA transmissions?
