Default Is it necessary to remove the bumper to get to the headlights?

've searched and couldn't find the answers. I've haven't been here in a a while.

So i went to the local junkyard to pick up a pair of 91 gs headlights. Seems like I had to remove the bumper to get access to the headlight housing. I have the headlights on my hands right now and I'm about to install them on my car but before I do that, I wanted to ask someone here who has done in install before. And can someone send me a link of a step by step procedure? THanks.
