94 accord automatic transmission problem
About a month ago I had an issue of the transmission slipping. No engine lights or codes. I Replaced the transmission fluid and the car ran flawless. Now about a month later. The problem has started again. Could fluid go bad that quickly? What else can cause this problem? Thanks KS for the help
What fluid did you use? The fluid might have gotten dirty again, however most likely it's a mechnanical issue. If you do a search you can find a lot of threads with useful info.
I had used the fluid suggested by orielly auto parts. I added a quart since some has been leaking. Could the fluid get dirty that quickly? I'll do a search for similar problems.thank you.
Also don't mix tranny fluids.
I had a mechanic flush it a few times to clean it out. Then it ran well for a month. I recently noticed a leak. At this point should I pay another shop to replace the fluid for me? I can't dish out a couple hundred dollars every month
You can replace it yourself, very easy and a lot of DIY out there. I would say put maybe a little of cleaning solution into your tranny before replacing (like trans tune). Then you drain the fluid, add amount drained. And repeat twice more.
If you think your trannt has something wrong with it mechanically, like if u see flakes when you drain the fluid, it I'll be easier to buy a JDM low mileage unit.
Actually, thinking that you have a leak already, a JDM transmission would be a better choice in the long run.

Honda fluid can be bought at Carquest. Same price, and in a Honda branded container. For those times when the Honda dealer may be closed or maybe Carquest is just closer.
