Default BMXA trans rebuild

How much interest is there in a BMXA rebuild guide? I am in the process of getting ready to rebuild mine.... can take pictures and put it together if there is enough interest. By the way, new member but a long time lurker.

As many people are.

I wouldn't consider a lack of replies as a lack of interest. If you're up for it, I'm certain a lot of people will appreciate the DIY!!

I'm going to pull the motor and transmission this weekend. Motor needs to be replaced, bought the car for cheap. So figured I get into the transmission and rebuild it as the car has 200K. Will swap the motor with a JDM I can get those for around 550.00~600.00 not worth rebuild the motor for the cost of the swap. I did read up on the process and I have the official Honda Manual watched a couple videos of the tear down one is really detailed. A little bummed the guy didn't do a rebuild video of the BMXA. He has some rebuild videos of other Honda transmissions. It looks pretty straight forward and no real special tools except of the P/N: 07GABPF50101 main shaft holder not sure exactly how that comes in to play ( Looks to hold the main shaft upright on dissemble and reassemble as far as I can tell from the manual.

Instead of the $70 mainshaft holder, I used a 22mm box end wrench, then packed the groves with finish nails. I used 2 different sizes of finish nails, some I had to gently tap in with a nail set and hammer. Once the wrench was firmly attached (no wobble) and turned the shaft, I then put a small bolt in one of the bellhousing holes to keep the wrench from turning. For me (SDMA trans) the mainshaft nut was a left handed thread, so I turned clockwise to loosen it. Worked great and was pretty quick.
