I bought a 1994 Accord LX (Manual) a couple months back, and after driving a 1993 Accord EX (Manual as well) I feel a lot more power from the 1994, even though the 1993 EX is supposed to have 5 more horsepower on the 1994. My thought is that something was done to the '94 to cause this. The 1994 looks stock under the hood completely. Standard F22B2, naturally aspirated, everything lines up stock. The only things that I can spot thus far that are aftermarket are the wheels, speakers, and muffler. I could use some help thinking of possible things that might have been done to the car for this seemingly extra power. Could it be possible that it's the aftermarket muffler?

F22B2 - 130hp/139ft·lb

I think your butt dyno is just fooling you. The cars aren't going to be substantially different from one another. Maintenance alone would factor into it - if the '94 was well maintained and the '93 wasn't as well taken care of they could have different power levels.

I really doubt anyone did any secret modifications to your '94 - the F22B2 does not respond incredibly well to the I/H/E mods.

Something that would give a noticeable power bump would be something like the following:

Bisimoto Level 2 Camshaft

Bisimoto Springs/Retainers

Some others -
* F23 intake manifold
* DSM injectors
* Intake (cold air?)
* Header (not sure what the best is anymore)
* Exhaust (no cat, opened up, etc)

 

The a6 has iab's which allows it to get more air above 4400 or so .
