putting d16z6 in 97 del sol - Will it fit right in?

Can I use a d16z6 to replace a d16y8 in my 97 del sol. Will it fit right in or need special wiring to work

Short answer yes. But youll need to do some wiring work.

D16z6's came in delsol's... They came in the Si models just look up all thats different so yes it would fit without any thing but wiring may be another story I wouldnt know. I wouldnt think since they are both vtec motors but check it out.

Yes, Sis came with D16Z6s originally but this engine got replaced by a better, Y8 from 1996. Y8's ECU is OBD-II so that's different and he would definitely need to do some extra wiring.
