Icon2 FD1 vs FD2 vs FD2R Chassis

Hi all,

I've searched forums, and specs, however I'm not getting the info that I'm looking for.

I'm curious about the Difference in these Chasis - I found that the FD2R chasis apparently has alot more aluminium welded on it as opposed to the others, makin git more lighter and rigid?

Theres no concrete info on the topic. Is anyone able to shed some light on this please, or direct me to a site that could possibly highlight the differences?

Cheers
K

Ok well first thing is the FD2 is a Type-R and the FD2R doesn't exist.

So you are comparing an FD1 and an FD2 chassis.

Yes the FD2 chassis is stiffer and stronger but I'm not sure if it's lighter. The engine difference alone probably makes the FD2 a little heavier but the car will overall handle a lot better then the FD1 under any circumstances.

The chassis of the FD2 has extra gussets and less sound damping, plus the glass is lighter(thinner and different density) as for the drive train, the weight difference is near negligible compared to FA5. The extra HP and torque plus the chassis stiffening as well as the weight reductions from the lighter chassis make the car more maneuverable...

The FD2RR is the Mugen Spec FD2, Carbon front bumper and grille. Carbon Rear wing, aluminium hood and lighter wheels, somewhat a 15Kg weightloss. Additional Engine mods to push the power up to 240 HP. AFAIK was only released in the Japanese Market

I'm well aware of the Mugen RR but again the chassis code FD2RR doesn't exist in the realm of Honda chassis codes. FD2RR is an internet slang that was given to the Mugen RR.

Actual chassis code for the Mugen RR is ABA-FD2.
