One month ago, stupid lowlife stunnaz ripped off my rear emblem leaving a deep gash on the paint.
I took my car to a PPG repair facility to get an estimate. They said they would have to repaint the whole rear hatch/deck. The guy who ran my estimate said they only use PPG paint on all of their paint work and high end vehicles like BMW, Mercedez uses PPG paint. I asked him how it compares to factory paint. He says, since my car has clear coat, it will look even better than factory and PPG is the best kind of paint out there today.

- Is PPG paint what he said it be?
- What does PPG stand for and what is it really?
- Should I check elsewhere to find a shop that would use factory paint/process?

 

ppg is really good paint hes not lying to you i dented a fender on my old car and i got a new one painted it with ppg paint and it came out wicked good better than stock PPG paint get a big its all my dad ever uses when he sprays my friends or his friends car its good stuff

 

ask if they can fix the gash and spot paint it


ppg is good paint, but i think the shop needs an oven to bake it

 

PPG is good paint, its made by Dupont I believe. I had my sideskirts painted and it came out perfect.

 

ppg is awesome .. its was all the hotrodders use and alot of the people that custom paint.. i just had my car done in nighthawk black pearl i love it .. other paints that are good would be

house of color

the 2 in the middle are mostly used for cars in the 200K+ range

PPG... one of best quality out there.. price is just kinda high.. but you get what you pay for IMO

 

i love PPG, i work for a PPG distributor and its whole line is great. ive been mixing it for a year now and every color seems to come out better looking then factory. thats why when I paint my car its only gonna be PPG DBU base and clear.
