94 LX trans issue
So I just bought another 94 accord. This makes 3. This one is an auto LX. Guy says it needs a trans. It will start out driving fine for 30-45 seconds and then it just comes out of gear. Shift to park, kill it, restart and repeat. It has something like 160k showing. The fluid looks nice and clean, doesn't smell burned. His alley is flooded so I can't get the car until it dries out some to drive and see what it does. One of the other cars I have is its twin with a blown head gasket, so I have a good trans if it needs swapped, as well as solenoid, tcm, etc to test before tearing it down. Anyone had a similar experience? What was the ultimate fix? Even if it needs the trans I have $300 in each car, so I can have the car on the road for $700 or so, so I won't be hurting to bad, just don't feel like doing more work than I have too.

I got the car today. Not sure what tbe problem is, but the trans has to be replaced. When you try to put it in park there is a rapid clicking and it does not hold the car. So not sure on the lack of gear engagement, but I am guessing a busted park pawl is gonna do it in.
Check your axles.
I actually broke the stub axle and when placing the car back into Park the trans will not fully engage park and continue to click until I turned off the engine. Not until the outer CV completely failed did the car no longer move.
If there are no records of when the fluid was changed, do so and take note of the condition.

I think there is definitely a problem in the final drive. I will definitely check the axles. The p.o. said that going down the highway it was like the front tires locked up for just a split second and then the trans started acting up. But something is definitely allowing the final drive to spin while in gear at a dead stop. An axle problem might definitely cause that. I think it would also prevent the park pawl from functioning properly. My beard will recieve many scratches tonight.
