shift linkage bushing
I have a 2000 Honda Civic DX Hatchback Manual Transmission and there is a little gap between the bracket and the bushing which causes a play when I move it left and right, is this normal? Thanks.

I just looked under my car, there is no space between the bracket and the bushing. Although between the BOLT(28) and COLLAR(19), there is a small movement if I push it up and down. Is this normal or there should be no play?
heres the diagram, also theres no washer

I just replaced the bushings in my 2000 CX hatchback last night with Energy Suspension bushings. The new bushing was a very tight fit in that bracket. By the time I had torqued the bolt up, the ears were fully seated against the bushing sides. The joint feels darn near solid. There is little play between the bolt and the collar (though I installed a brand new OEM bolt with the kit). The factory torque spec is 16 lb-ft. Have you checked that the bolt is fully tightened?
