Paint for Suspension & Misc - Paint Over Rust - Options?
So I am finnnally getting my car back out of storage and want to start getting her cleaned up again. I want to paint everything I replace or work on suspension wise to clean it all up.
-Camber kit
-Suspension Fork
-Wheel well
With that being said I do NOT want to use standard spray paint. It flakes too easily if you dont take the time to sandblast each and every part. I plan to use Por 15 on the wheel well but that stuff is waaay to runny to be used on anything else. It lays easy but its very thin and I dont feel like it work work well on suspension camber kit etc. Maybe I am wrong & should give it a shot but are there any other options?
Anyone use the G2 Caliper Epoxy for stuff other than calipers? I have used this before and you can spray it on or brush it on. It laid great, got super smooth & rock hard after cure time. Its a little pricey but I could probably find it in larger quantities if needed. Ill be doing basic colors like either black or gunmetal. Possibly a gold but we shall see. I just want everything to look clean. Right now the upper camber kit is red but starting to rust, the forks are a rusty brown and my wheel well undercoating is gone.
Thoughts? Ill be doing this for each wheel well and suspension component.
I know powdercoating would be awesome however that is going to be very expensive in the long run with all the parts & I have quite an expensive motor build for this car as it is so if I can save money using some other options I will. I do have a paint gun & compressor so it would be easier to line up 5-10 pieces at a time and go to town. All bushings are being replaced etc so everything is coming off the car either way.
