removed fuel tank with issues
Hi first time here . i have a 1990 accord exr i pulled the gas tank because of a leak there looks like a pin hole need to try to repair that .but the other problem is the fuel line that runs from the tank to a a 90 degree fitting was so corroded that it broke off now im wondering if i can cut that metal line and use flexable fuel line instead i would have to flare the ends of the metal line so the clamps will hold. the line from the fuel pump is metal then goes to a biger dia flex hose then to that angled fitting then to the metal line that goes to the fuel rail .thanks i hope i explained it properly without pictures its hard to explain
Just me, but if I had a 25 year old gas tank with a hole in it, I think I would get a new tank. Probably won't be all that long before you get another hole.
The hole in your tank is likely to be from rust. Get a new one. I replaced mine on my CRX since it did have rust inside but it still was solid, removing the rust, cleaning and re-sealing was MUCH more expensive than the $144 a brand new tank cost me.
