Fully restored Honda CVCC
Saw this fully restored CVCC that a friend of my buddys did. Original California car. His father bought this CVCC brand new in 1976. It had the usual wear and tear. Had some missing trim pieces, motor needed a rebuild, and the interior needed some tlc as well. He said it took him many years to restore it. This CVCC has been in the same family since 1976. Incredible.
- New paint
- Interior restored
- Engine rebuilt
- Wheels
- All new trim
- all original miles

This is literally the CLEANEST Honda CVCC I have ever seen.
Has anyone on Honda Tech restored an old CVCC or any old Honda between the years of 1975 - 1989? Post your pictures here
I want to see what other people are doing because my grandfather has one in his old barn I may take home and start to restore!!! Only thing is it would be harder to find parts for it. Worth or no???

I think he said it cost around $4800 all together to restore it. Which isn't that much at all. I was surprised. I'm assuming he had some "hookups". But yeah, its amazing what a simple restoration can do. It probably looks even better now than it did in 1976 !!
You asked for pics of other old CVCCs, here ya go. I owned this about 10 years ago. A 1975 4-door wagon converted to a "panel wagon". It had a D16A6 in it with a nitrous set-up. The seats and gauge cluster came from the same '90 CRX Si that the engine and trans came from. The front brakes were from some old Porsche, and I don't know a name on the wheels but they were pretty cool. You can see in the pic it had rows of vents punched in the hood like old school hotrods. I had the front bumper off in this pic because I was trying to make a smaller custom bumper, I didn't like the look of the stock one. I had problems with the custom axles breaking, but other than that it was a fun car. I wish I still had more pics, the interior was pretty damn nice too.
You don't see many heavily modified 70s Hondas, so this was a unique one.

Wow that is awesome! I love the rear panel idea. It makes it look like an old 1940's milk wagon. I like it! Did you punch the holes in the hood yourself? and How much did you spend on all the repairs? Like mechanically?
I'm curious as to see what other people have spent on these cars. I'm highly considering restoring my grandpa's but I want to know what I would be getting myself into. Its an old faded light blue color. He also said the axles need replacing but I think they're the stock ones. I haven't even checked the engine yet
