1990 accord h22a4 swap checklist
I just got a h22a4 for my 1990 lx and wanted to make sure that I got my information correct for the swap, since its a little different then a conventional h22a swap because of the obd2 and the information for this swap is not necessarily all in the same place.
I have the harness for this motor but from what I understand I am to modify my factory harness.
I'll need to use this jumper harness to gain functionality of these specific things
OBD1 & OBD2 VTEC Subharness
I'll need to use the upper plenum of an obd1 h22a as well as the injectors and maintain the resistor box
ecu obviously
Distributor is where I'm confused...since mine is a 1990 and it's internal coil I need to swap to a jdm h22 dizzy and change the wiring? I found this thread, I believe the 2nd post is referring to keeping the distributor that I have in the car now but I'm not sure
Here are the main sources of my information, of course the main cb7 h22a swap threadand then this onehttps://honda-tech.com/honda-accord-...-info-2931158/
This is the first time I've ever done anything like this, pulling a motor, swapping etc...so I want to make sure that everything is in order before attempting such a huge(to me atleast) project.

Just stay obd1. It's not worth upconverting to obd2. You will use your existing accord harness.
Get an obd1 p13 ecu.
Google "axidworks" and pick up a complete vtec, iab, and knock sensor kit. It's like $30. It's only 4 wires you need to run. The iab will tap into the iacv yellow/black wire a few inches from the connector. He will supply a blue tap connector.
You need a td-60u distributor. It will be plug and play.
You will need to pick up some obd1 p13(93-96 prelude sivtec) injectors.
It would be wise to pick up the two water hoses that attach to the heater, they are the water pipe to heater and the heater to engine. With the engine out, it's really easy to swap those, but with the engine in, it's a pain to get to them. For these you will buy for the accord model.
When replacing the engine, it would be wise to take off the crankshaft pulley since it will tend to bang against the chassis. It will give you some room to play with.
