rims+tire stepup
I'm very new to this auto crossing scene. I usually drag race but I wanted to try something new. I was looking at a website http://www.superlite-wheels.com seems like the prices are reasonable. I'm just having a hard time finding decent tires I have seen yokohama A008 and they seem reasonable. Oh yeah I looking to run 13x7 rims. I'm located up in northeast PA if anyone is from up here let me know. I thinking about joining the the http://www.nepa-scca.com club. The car is a 90 honda civic si

superlites or panasports are good. 13x7 seems to be the right competitive choice for better gearing, but if youre just starting out, i wouldnt worry so much about getting the best wheels. but tires are important and since you mention it, im pretty sure yokohama a008R are no longer available except for OE porsche size, which i dont tihnk are even the same as the tires you want. the replacement a032R really suck and are the last R tire you want to bother with. full tread kumho victoracers are a pretty good choice for autox.

Throw away rims if you don't like them:

I use 13x9 Real Racing aluminum wheels with 5" backspacing. They are 10.5lbs and are only $150 a wheel.
You can get Real Racing wheels from R&S Racing. http://www.rsracing.com

Thanks fellows for the info hopefully this will get me on my way to a new exciting hobby that I'm going to vendure into. Oh yeah is their a website where I could purchase panasport rims from I was also interested in them. Those real racing aluminum rims look resonable though.

Ah you are in Norristown. You should come out to the autocrosses:

Volk te37 in 13x8 owns you all.
as soon as I see the adjustable control arms for SP cars FastTrak'd, I'm gonna buy me a set of Lenso Tom's Drag 13s
Yeah I will come out to the auto cross races. Not going to run until I get these rims and tires though. I got skinny little honda vx rims now they are like 4 inches wide, kind of funny. Are their anymore races before winter really kicks in.
Oh yeah I have one more question are all these 13 inch rims illegal like panasport and superlite. Whats the problem with them they won't hold up to daily driving because they are not strong enough to take pot holes and ect..
they're not strong enough for potholes and such, and they'll stick out past your fenders... (probably not a bad thing unless you're going for the low rider look)
I would stick with your stock tires (unless you have mods done to your car) and stay in stock class if you plan on autocrossing. Once you change things you might get bumped into harder and more expensive classes.
The panasports are a very good and light weight wheel with a good reputation. I know of several IT racers that use them. A 13x6 panasport is in the 11 to 11.5 pound range where a stock Honda 13x5 steelie is like 16 pounds. I have Borbet type Cs (13 x 6) on my ITC CRX and these are in the 13.5 pound range.
I would hesitate before using any ultra lightweight wheel on the street due to damage from pot holes, etc.
If looking for inexpensive alloys, check out any OEM Honda alloy- these are generally pretty light wheels compared to many out there and can be found inexpensively if you look hard enough.

I don't know what class I would be in considering that I have a engine swap in my civic hatch. I would like to stay in the stock class just to start out but I guess its to late for that
